Governor Parsons has issued a "Stay At Home" order that starts at 12:30 am Monday, but does still allow schools to continue delivering meals. Highland will continue to deliver meals as planned; however, no meals on Friday 4/10/20, as it was a non-attendance day originally.

Highland HS Baseball Parent Meeting Will be Monday, 3/16 at 5:30 in the HS Commons.
On Tues. 3/17 following the HS basketball/cheerleading banquet there will be an organizational meeting for the annual girls and boys basketball fundraising golf tournament. This meeting is for parents of all boys and girls basketball players currently in 8th - 11th grade who plan on playing basketball in the 20-21 season. This meeting will be at approximately 8pm in the HS commons.

Varsity track held their first time trials this afternoon. To end their first week of practice. Events included the 100, 200, 400 and 800 meter trials Throwers posted marks in the shot put and discus. The new FAT timing system was used and worked as expected.
HHS Drama Club members were treated to a special touring performance of Culver-Stockton College’s upcoming production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! Our actors learned so much about theater in a college setting and some of them even got to be IN the show! Thank you to Director David Lane and his cast for allowing us to experience this HILARIOUS show together!

As a reminder, before the start of the 2020-2021 school year, students must have all required vaccines. The Lewis County Health Department will be at Highland High on March 20, 2020 to administer required immunizations to incoming 8th grade and 12th grade students with returned signed consent. All incoming 8th grade must have the required dose of TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) and MCV (Meningococcal) vaccines. All incoming 12th grade students must have the required dose of MCV (Meningococcal) vaccine.If you would like for your student to receive the required immunizations, please complete, sign and return the immunization consent form to the HHS office no later than March 6, 2020. Our PBS February Big Ticket Item was a trip to Hawaii in the form of a Luau Party!Students purchased a ticket using their Cougar Cash and got to participate in activities like Flamingo Ring Toss, limbo, lei making, a photo booth, and, of course, eat cookies and drink Hawaiian Punch! Highland schools will once again be closed tomorrow, Wednesday 1/22/20, due to continued icy road conditions on the gravel (including the road to the elementary school) and many side roads. There is also a threat of additional snow and sleet forecast for tomorrow starting at noon.
The ACT scheduled for Feb.8 at Highland has been closed due to low testing numbers. Students who registered to test need to check their emails to see where they have been reassigned to test on Feb. 8 and reprint their admissions ticket.
