Due to the varsity basketball games scheduled for Friday 1/14/22 being moved to 1/13/22 the JV games scheduled at Canton on. 1/14/22 will be altered as follows: Girls rescheduled to a date yet to be determined, Boys tip off moved to 6:30pm. GO COUGARS!!

Due to the forecasted winter weather this Friday and Saturday the Varsity Basketball games vs. Macon scheduled for Friday 1/14/22 have been moved to Thursday 1/13/22. Games will be played at Highland. Girls will tip off at 6pm with boys to follow!! GO COUGARS!!

The Highland Cougars defeat the Canton Tigers in the Top Cat Game 53-46 and retain the Lewis County Top Cat Plaque for the 3rd year in a row!! GO COUGARS!!

The Highland Lady Cougars fall to a good Canton squad 57-37. The Lady Tigers retain the Lewis County TopCat traveling plaque!! GO COUGARS!!

The LCC1 regularly scheduled monthly board meeting will be postponed from tomorrow night to next Wednesday night (1/19/22), so that the COVID committee can meet tomorrow night @ 5:30pm to discuss the new CDC guidelines and consider any recommended changes to the LCC1 protocols!

In JV Boys action tonight, the Cougar’s fall to the Clark County Indians 35-56.

The JV Lady Cougars Basketball team fell to a talented Clark County Lady Indians team tonight 27-39. The Lady Cougars played the entire game with only five players. Great effort ladies!

The district also has several staff members that are out due to either being COVID-19 positive themselves or having a household contact that is positive. Please continue to use the Daily Wellness Checklist and stay home if sick!


HHS has a 10th grader who tested positive with possible contact dates of 1/6, 1/7, and 1/8 (at the tournament). Student does not ride a bus.


HES also had a positive staff member from Mrs. Dye’s room. Possible contact dates of 1/5 & 1/6.


HES had a 4th grader (Stratton) who rides bus 5 test positive for COVID. Only date of contact is 1/5/22.


Attn: the LCHD has just informed LCC1 that they are completely out of COVID-19 tests. People will need to go to Blessing or Hannibal Regional for tests until they can get more!
