Junior High students recently took a break from MAP testing to focus on something just as important, building a strong school community. Through collaboration and meaningful discussions, students utilized durable skills like collaboration, communication, and critical thinking to work together in developing the core values that matter most to them. These values will help shape expectations and guide how we support one another every day. It was inspiring to see our students engaged, thoughtful, and committed to creating a positive environment for all. Great work, everyone! #gocougars #portraitofacougar

Jr. High science students wrapped up MAP testing week with a hands-on STEM challenge! Working collaboratively, students designed and built towers using only spaghetti and tape. Students put their problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills to the test. There were several creative and unique designs across the room, showing off both innovation and persistence. The tallest tower of the day reached an impressive 112 cm! 👏 Great work to all of our students for thinking outside the box and finishing the week strong!

Jr. High students celebrated the end of MAP testing week with a fun-filled kickball showdown—7th grade vs. 8th grade! Both teams brought energy and teamwork! After a great game, the 8th graders came out on top with the victory… but something tells us a rematch might be in order! A great way to wrap up a week of hard work!

After years of dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to students, we are proud to celebrate the careers of Mrs. Amy Schultz and Mrs. Janet French as they retire at the end of this school year. From the lessons taught in the classroom to the life lessons shared beyond it, their influence reaches far beyond our walls.

We invite our community to join us in celebrating their next chapter in the Highland Elementary gym on Wednesday, May 6 at 2:30 PM as we honor their years of service and wish them well.

Cougar Nation - a LCC1 employee received a text today from a company named Verasight claiming to offer $5 for completing a survey specific to Lewis County. This is NOT something sent by the school district and could potentially be a scam or phishing attempt, so only click the link if you trust them. Another image is attached, which shows an AI review that reports a 67% negative feedback rating for the company.
