High School Track and Field will have a parent meeting for all HS track athletes’ parents on Thursday March 12 at 5:30. Please meet in the HS gym. Meeting should be 30 minutes long. Information on the season and policy will be discussed.

Drug Free Youth meeting Tuesday evening March 10th at 6pm in the commons. All parents & students interested in helping with the After Prom Party are welcome to attend.

Great time this morning hosting CCC Scholar Bowl Tournament!! Congratulations to Centralia for winning the conference championship!!

Varsity track held their first time trials this afternoon. To end their first week of practice. Events included the 100, 200, 400 and 800 meter trials Throwers posted marks in the shot put and discus. The new FAT timing system was used and worked as expected.

Personal Finance classes had a guest speaker today, Polly Matteson from the Northeast Region RDPC. They were given tips on creating a resume that will be used in upcoming mock interviews.

HHS Drama Club members were treated to a special touring performance of Culver-Stockton College’s upcoming production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! Our actors learned so much about theater in a college setting and some of them even got to be IN the show! Thank you to Director David Lane and his cast for allowing us to experience this HILARIOUS show together!

This 5th grade pirate crew is getting ready for their performance of Pirates! The Musical. You can catch these fierce mateys along with the rest of our 5th graders at their performance at HES on Tuesday, March 10th!

Our Feb. Principal Prize Patrol winner is kindergartener Nakisha Engi! We're so proud of Nakisha GIVING HER BEST everyday! Mr. Post, Mr. Scifres, and Mrs. Jennings surprised Nakisha & her family with a pizza for dinner as our thanks!

STEM designed houses with working lights, fans, and indoor plumbing! Look at these creative designs including a houseboat! We learned about circuits, wiring, copper tape, and switches!

STEM making ice cream with bags! It didn’t take long to figure out that the ice gets colder when salt is added! Had a great time and the results were delicious!

Our SOAR friends came over this morning to give us a presentation on Ligers. Are those even real?? You bet!!

PTO sent home the Mother/Son Glow Night sign-up form on Monday. The sign-up form and money are due back this Friday, March 6th. This event is for all Kindergarten-6th grade HES BOYS only.

HES 4th graders are gearing up for their favorite time of year in the music room—RECORDERS!! 4th grade parents, be looking for recorders in book bags by Friday! It’s going to be a very musical weekend! 😎
