Highland fourth grader, Quentin Miller, was phenomenal in his performance as Benny in The Boxcar Children at Quincy Community Theater. Several school personnel and students were on hand to watch the curtain call performance on Sunday, October 27th.

Mrs. Bainter’s class is studying shapes. We read the book The Shape Of Things. Then the class created their own picture by using different shapes to make the pictures!
Mrs. Hinton's homeroom kicked off @NightZookeeper today. As usual, it was a big hit! We were all abuzz creating creatures and tickling our creative writing bone!!
Highland Elementary 6th graders will present their annual Veterans Day music program on Thursday, November 7th at 6:30PM in the HES gym.
Highland High School held its National Honor Society Induction Ceremony this evening in the high school commons.

Mrs. Hinton's 4th grade homeroom took a trip to Cody, Wyoming this morning to @@centerofthewest via @SkypeClassroom to learn about animal adaptations. We had a great time!
The high school health classes did an activity building a house of cards. After working to build those houses, underage drinking came along and ruined their plans.
Highland Athletic Boosters will be meeting this Wednesday, 11/6 @ 6:00 p.m. at the High School in the Paula Wallace Memorial Library. Hope to see you there.

Highland History Club Veterans Day Program
The Highland High School History Club will be sponsoring the annual Veterans Day Program at the Monticello Court House on Sunday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. The Highland High School History Club built and dedicated the Veterans Memorial in front of the Court House in 1996. This is the 24th anniversary. The American Legion Post #578 will be presenting colors. Highland High School History Club President Cosea Cisco will give a speech. Guest speaker will be Greg Sharpe who is a member of Missouri House of Representative District # 4.
Tomorrow night Highland Junior High basketball will travel to North Shelby. 7th grade girls will play at 6pm followed by the 8th grade boys. There will be no 8th grade girls game nor a 7th grade boys game due to low numbers at North Shelby.
