
Recently at HES Mrs. Fryer & Mrs. Smith taught students about bees and their involvement in nature. Students learned about the bee's life, got to see the bee keepers suit, a honeycomb, bee keepers tools, & try honey from a local beehive.

HHS Student Council members helped serve lunch with the American Legion Auxiliary unit on Tuesday as a community service project.

HS parents: apparently a student from another school took a BB gun to Hannibal today. Highland students were not involved and the situation was handled without anyone being in danger. Hannibal did have an unrelated drug dog search today also. All HHS students are safe!

Several 7th and 9th Graders from Highland attended the Hannibal Manufacturing Day today where they learned about a variety of careers in Manufacturing! Thank you to all of the vendors for their time and the information provided to our students!

Junior High boys basketball practice schedule for the next two days is as followed Tuesday after school @ High School gym, Wednesday @630 am at HES.

Highland Varsity Cross Country teams come away from the Clopton meet with 7 medalists and 2 team plaques! Varsity girls get 2nd place and Varsity boys finish in 3rd place overall. #GoCougars #CougarPride

The Scholastic Book Fair runs all this week and ends Wednesday, 10/23 at 8:00 pm.

HES students earned their THIRD schoolwide reward compliment party this morning! With the help of our Principal Prize Patrol winner Isabell, the whole school got to watch Mr. Post and Mr. Scifres going taste bud to taste bud in the Beanboozled Challenge! They had to eat jelly beans that looked normal on the outside but could taste like stinky socks or dirty dishwater! Yuck! We're glad they have strong stomachs! #responsible #respectful #safe

Another Great night for the Marching Highlanders!

Congratulations to the Marching Highlanders placing 1st in the Parade of Champions and 3rd in a very close Field Show composition!!!

School records broken last night: Pass attempts (Mallett 42), Rush attempts (Goehl 28), Receiving TDs (Schroeder 3 ties record), longest passing play (Mallett to Schroeder 99 yards.). Great work! Go Cougars!

Mrs. Seals’ class was thrilled to receive their monsters today from the HHS Fashion Design and Construction class. We read “I Need My Monster” and then drew and wrote about our monsters. They were sent to the high school and the students surprised us with a special hand delivery today. My students loved them! We are so thankful for Mrs. Huchteman’s idea and collaboration!
