We had another busy week in Miss Brooke's class!! We finished our "Let's Investigate" Unit by learning about how we make things move. We have done lots of hands on activities this week. We raced cars. We ramped them! We learned if friction slowed them down or made them faster. We used motion to make art & make paper "caterpillars" move. We moved things with catapults and pulleys, and ended our week with a cool obstacle course and some fun Groundhog's Day activities.! Keep it going at home by asking your students "how can we make things go"?

The Highland Cheerleaders and Basketball teams would like to thank everyone who attended the first Annual Basketball Jersey Auction this week! Miss Brooke's class spent the first few days back at school finishing out our unit on measuring how big, how much, or how many. Ask your pre-k student about all the things we measured and what their favorite activity was; I think everyone liked the Skittles measuring best! We also practiced our names, worked on letter matching, acted out story scenes with puppets, and made some paper puppets of our own.

Highland will be running on a 2 hour delay due to the freezing fog, which has led to some slick road conditions.

Starting tomorrow, Mon. 1/29/24, the buses will resume their normal routes including gravel roads. If there is a gravel road that a driver cannot manage safely, then they will contact the impacted patrons from that road and ask them to meet at another location.

Join Highland in celebrating courtwarming next week. Dress up days for the week are posted in the picture. Courtwarming festivities will be celebrated Feb 2 between the boys and girls games.

Members of the Highland Baseball Team will be selling baseball hats during tonight's (1/26) girls basketball game vs Brookfield. Hats may be purchased in the Commons for $30 each. We accept cash or checks. Checks should be made payable to Highland Baseball. We have a limited number of hats to sell.
