H.E.S. fifth graders were learning about explosions today by making mini explosions with baking soda and vinegar.

LCC1 had 1 HS student and 1 Elem student (6th - Scifres) identified as COVID positive today. Neither rode a school bus. Please continue to monitor students closely for signs and symptoms and keep sick ones home.


HES did have another 3 students identified yesterday as COVID positive. All third graders - 1 in Phillips' , 1 in Schmitz's, and 1 in Pacl's classes. Buses impacted were 7 and 10. Parents please continue to monitor closely for signs & symptoms and keep sick ones home.

Parents/Guardians: please be aware that the district is still experiencing a severe shortage in school bus drivers. Next week may require some kids to be picked up or held late for some drivers to run a second route. More info will be shared as we get closer to the days impacted.


Due to Technical Difficulties, the NFHS stream of the home softball game vs Marceline tonight will NOT be able to be broadcast. We have worked to resolve the issues, but are now waiting for a replacement unit to be delivered. We hope to have everything back up an running soon!

The Lady Cougars were on the road last night at Bowling Green winning the varsity game 6-2 and victorious in the JV game 4-3. Two quality wins for the Lady Cougars. They will be in action again at Highland on Thursday hosting Marceline (JV first at 5PM with varsity to follow).

HES had 7 more COVID positives identified yesterday in 2nd-5th grades. One in Bennett (2nd), 1 in Mrs. Phillips' (3rd), 2 in Mrs. Schmitz's (3rd), 1 in Mrs. Geisendorfer's (5th), 1 in Mrs. Harshberger's (5th) and 1 in Mrs. Moore's (5th). Possible contact dates range from 8/24-8/29 and impact bus riders on Bus 8, 10, 15, and 16. Parents please continue to monitor your children closely and keep kids home if they are exhibiting signs and symptoms.

2022 Teal the Field Ovarian Cancer Awareness Night
On September 27th the Lady Cougars Softball Teams will be hosting our annual Teal the Field Night. Shirts are on sale now -September 9th. Shirts are $15.00. All proceeds go to Siteman Cancer Center.
