The Highland High school student council attended the northeast district meeting in California, MO. They ran for northeast district secretary and WON! Students also attended workshops and listened to an amazing presenter!




Ms. Shrader’s class earned 50 class compliments for being respectful, responsible and safe! They celebrated with a popcorn party 🍿😁

Due to a bus driver becoming available bus 13 route will be run at the regular time. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Bus 13 will be run as a secondary route today. Anticipated time for kids to get on a bus and leave Highland is 430ish. Students will be dropped at their normal bus stops. Parents may pick their students up from school if they do not want them to wait.
The District semi-final football game scheduled for tonight at South Shelby has been moved up to 530 due to the forecasted storms. The bus will leave Highland at 3pm. Kickoff will be at 530. Admission is $6 per person. GO COUGARS!!

Highland High students are hosting a pancake breakfast on Veterans Day, Nov 11, from 7AM to 9AM in the commons. Please come join us. The public is also invited to an assembly following the breakfast @ 9AM in the gym.

Some fifth graders chose to record podcasts to compare Cinderella stories from different cultures.




Congratulations to these 3rd grade students for unlocking the box! Students worked in pairs to solve addition and subtraction word problems to find a clue to the location of the key. Then shared the prize with all of their classmates after unlocking the box.

Soar students have completed testing of their Bone Bridge this week. They tested them for capacity and also strength. The winning bridge held over 26,000 grams!

Highland FBLA members attended FBLA Day at Truman State University.




The Girls and Boys Junior High Basketball games scheduled for Friday versus Knox Co have been postponed.to a date TBD due to varsity football district play. This decision was made prior to Knox Co having to forfeit their district football game due to injury. A reschedule date will be announced at a later date.

Tonight's Junior High Basketball season opening schedule will be as follows:
5:30pm - 7th grade boys (2 quarters only)
6:00pm - 8th grade girls (full game)
7:00pm - 8th grade boys game (full game)
Highland Jr. High Basketball gets underway tonight at Highland High School versus the North Shelby Raiders. The 7th grade boys will play first at 5:30; the 8th grade girls will play the middle game, and the 8th grade boys will finish the night and play last.
