There were a few milestones/records that were achieved by some Highland Lady Cougars yesterday in the Class 2 Quartfinal game. Keera Rothweiler became our first ever 60/60 player with 61 hits and 62 runs scored this season. Keera also tied her 2024 single season record of 52 stolen bases in a season. Keera broke the school OBP record with a 0.613 on base percentage (breaking Bailie Crist's record from 2024 of 0.607). Keera also tied Payton Miller with the most defensive assists in a season with 66.
Bailie Crist broke the school record of single season RBI's with 52. The previous record was set last Saturday by teammate Addy Abell (Addy finished with 50 RBI).
Abby Lay recorded her 500th career strikeout.
As a team, the Lady Cougars stole 151 bases which is the most stolen bases in a single season in school history.

This season with the Lady Cougars has been something special. We’ve been through a lot together — ups, downs, and everything in between — but this group never gave up and never gave in. We fought with heart, with pride, and with love for each other every single day.
We had a great year, and I loved every minute of the journey. That’s what makes this ending so tough. It just wasn’t our day, but it’s hard to accept that our time together — seeing each other every day, laughing, competing, growing — has come to an end.
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve told the girls that no matter what happens, we are proud of them and we love them. And we truly mean that. We’ve represented Highland with class, toughness, and heart.
I was blown away by all of the support we had — the stands were always full of people cheering us on (especially yesterday), and that meant so much to our players and coaches. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us, thank you to the best coaching staff in the world, and most of all thank you to the best group of young ladies a coach could ever ask for. I also want to say a special thank you to our 5 seniors (Manda, Bailie, Addy, Abby, & Cat). You girls will forever hold a special place in my heart. I am so very very proud of you and I have had so much fun being your coach. Thank you for everything!
I had an absolute blast coaching this team. I’ll never forget this season, this group, or the bond we built together. 💛🤎 #LadyCougars #Family #ProudCoach
