
Seventh Grade Geography students have been studying about Earth's physical systems. Today they built models to share what they've learned.





The Highland Lady Cougars move on in district play with a win over Mark Twain 6-0. Miller gets the win, allowing 2 hits and 10 K's, and finished 2-4 at the plate with a double. Harshberger and Mead each had 2 hits. Lady Cougars are back in action tonight vs Palmyra at 6:30.

HES was informed of another 6th grader who is positive for COVID-19. Symptom onset was 10/11 and the student was at school on 10/11 & 10/12 and rode Bus 15 both AM & PM. Parents please monitor your children closely for signs & symptoms of COVID & keep children home if present!


Autumn Harvest Farms Reminder:

HES CANDY BAR SALES UPDATE: We are currently out of the VARIETY boxes of candy bars. We should have a shipment arriving Friday unless there is a shipping delay. Unfortunately, some student orders were not able to be fulfilled today. We do have several boxes of caramel only bars. If you would like caramel instead, please send a note tomorrow (Thursday) or call HES. If you do not respond, we will send a variety box home as soon as we receive them. Sorry for any inconveniences. The district softball games scheduled for tonight at Palmyra have been cancelled and rescheduled for tomorrow Thursday 10/14/21. The same schedule will apply with the Lady Cougars playing Mark Twain at 7:30pm. GO COUGARS!!

FRIDAY IS THE LAST DAY we will accept insurance payment for students who enrolled at the beginning of this school year.
If you checked the box, Accept Insurance, on the Chromebook Agreement form and have not paid for the insurance you have until Oct. 15th to pay in full. As stated on the agreement form if full payment is not received by Oct. 15th the insurance will be void and any repairs will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian. 1 - student $25, 2 - students $35, 3 students - $45 and 4 or more is a flat rate of $50. The next 6th grader that is COVID positive Was reported with symptom onset as of 10/9 and was present on 10/7, 10/8, and 10/11 riding bus 6 in the AM/PM on 10/7 & 10/8. Parents please continue to monitor your student closet for symptoms and keep kids home that have symptoms.


HES was notified of two more COVID Positive 6th graders, as well as a 6th grade staff member. The 1st student’s symptom onset was 10/7 and was present 10/5, 10/6, 10/7, 10/8. Only rode bus 11 in the AM on 10/8, but rode same bus am/pm on all the other days.

The V/JV Softball games scheduled for tonight vs. Scotland Co have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The Lady Cougars will play at Palmyra on Wednesday October 13 at 7:30pm in the District Softball Tournament. GO COUGARS!!
