For 8th Graders final project, they create a historical hoodie. The hoodie is to represent a historical figure, event, or era. They must incorporate text, symbols, and strategic color choices. This is one of my favorite projects we do; I'm always dazzled by their creativity! Here are a few of their creations:

Thank you to all of our Highland Alumni who made another Ethics Day great for our seniors! Special Thanks Again to: Mr. Luke Rothweiler, Mr. Brian Murphy, Mrs. Ashton Jaco, Mrs. Dana Sharpe, Judge Jennifer Richardson, Mr. Curtis Meany, Mrs. Joni Fusselman, Mrs. Erin Smyser, Dr. Dan Goehl, Mrs. Syndey Burckart and our facilitator for the day Sheriff David Parrish. The students had many great discussions around making ethical decisions while talking through real life scenarios. Much appreciation goes out to United States Bank for providing lunch. As well as to Town and Country Bank for providing breakfast again this year. Pepsi also donated all of the water and soda that our students could drink throughout the event. We are so thankful for the support of our community, businesses and alumni of our students at Highland. Thank you all again!

Class of 2025 Seniors and Parents Please Read the following about the Senior Field Trip To the Saint Louis Zoo tomorrow, Monday, May 19, 2025. Due to storm damage at the STLU zoo we are waiting to determine if we can go the the zoo tomorrow in Saint Louis, MO. An announcement will be made in the morning. If we cannot go to the STLU zoo in the morning we will re route to the Henson Robinson Zoo in Springfield, IL . The distance is similar and no change will be made to the departure/return times. We will still plan on leaving at 8:30 a.m. from Highland. Again, We will make a determination in the morning on which zoo we will be going to tomorrow. Thank you
