
As a reminder, before the start of the 2020-2021 school year, students must have all required vaccines. The Lewis County Health Department will be at Highland High on March 20, 2020 to administer required immunizations to incoming 8th grade and 12th grade students with returned signed consent. All incoming 8th grade must have the required dose of TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) and MCV (Meningococcal) vaccines. All incoming 12th grade students must have the required dose of MCV (Meningococcal) vaccine.If you would like for your student to receive the required immunizations, please complete, sign and return the immunization consent form to the HHS office no later than March 6, 2020. We tested our houses more then once to make improvements with stronger materials. The third grade kids LOVED this project!!!

Third graders finished building houses to withstand tornados and hurricanes. We had fun designing our houses as we pretended to be an engineer! More photos to come.

3rd graders had an amazing visit from some real life explorers today. Jeanne Smith and Debbie Franke taught us about Antarctica! Thank you for sharing the videos, and pictures of your trip! We can't wait to learn about Africa!

Our PBS February Big Ticket Item was a trip to Hawaii in the form of a Luau Party!Students purchased a ticket using their Cougar Cash and got to participate in activities like Flamingo Ring Toss, limbo, lei making, a photo booth, and, of course, eat cookies and drink Hawaiian Punch! A huge PBS thank you goes out to Mrs. Goodwin and Mrs. Shrader for planning and organizing our exciting party and to the teachers and administrators who stayed to help give our kiddos a little taste of summertime in the middle of a snowstorm! 🌞🌞 #responsible #respectful #safe

The Highland Lady Cougars end the 2019-20 basketball season with a 71-59 loss to Clark Co. in Class 3 District 13 play at Palmyra!! Thank you to the three seniors for their dedication and hard work over the last 4 years!! GO COUGARS!!

In Dr. King’s Biology class , students were sequencing strands of actual Ebola DNA to determine a timeline of mutations that occurred during the 2013-2016 outbreak in Africa. They evidenced some excellent scientific thinking!
