With the real temperatures being above 0° and windchill factors being at -15° and above, Highland will be in session Wednesday 2/19/25.
The FFA Pancake Breakfast will be rescheduled to Friday evening-serving will start at 4:30 in the ag shop.
The LCC1 admin will continue to closely monitor temperatures & road conditions to make a determination about holding school tomorrow (Wed. 2/19). The current expectation is Highland will be In Session 2/19/25, but any snow accumulation or lower windchills will change that!
The Lewis County C-1 Board Meeting which was planned to be tomorrow night (Wednesday, 2/19/25) has been postponed to Thursday (2/20/25) evening at 5:30pm, with open session beginning at 6pm. Agenda will be posted soon in accordance with the Missouri Sunshine Law.
The HES Family Fun Night scheduled for this Thursday, 2/20, is being moved to Tuesday 2/25. This is to make sure our HHS EDU and FCCLA students have enough time to host a FANTASTIC first ever student led Family Fun Night at HES. WE hope to see you there!

Due to the snow and extreme cold temperatures, Highland Schools will be closed on Tuesday 2/18/25. It will be a traditional snow day (not an AMI day) and no Votech either.
The JV game scheduled with Palmyra tonight has been canceled due to road conditions and continued snow!

Kids cheer camp (pre k -5th) is now scheduled Friday 2/21 3:30-5:30p. After practice we will bus them from HES to HHS then they will perform at half time of the girls game that evening. We will be posting a google link in the comments for after school approval. We will provide a meal for the kids.
*6th-12th grade open cheer clinic from 12p-2pm is still on as of now but will be fully decided on Saturday morning depending on the weather. Please keep an eye out for updates.
Currently, the Conference Band Day is rescheduled for Wednesday, 2/19/25, and will take place at Culver-Stockton College.
In light of the recent tragedy that struck the Pikeland School District in Pittsfield IL, Highland is encouraging everyone who attends tonight's basketball games vs. Macon to wear RED to show our support of the Pikeland community during this devastating time!! #saukeestrong!!
Basketball games tonight versus Macon will be played as follows....JV boys at 5pm followed by the varsity girls . Varsity boys will play immediately following the varsity girls! GO COUGARS!!
