The Jerry Ball Relays will finally be coming home to Highland on Tuesday, April 13. Javelin starts at 2:30. Field events at 3:30 and Running events at 4:30. Be sure to come out and celebrate the return of Track competition to Highland and support our Highland athletes! Go Cougars

Parents and Guardians:
At the time of collection (sometime in May before the end of the school year), all Chromebooks will be inspected for any damage including broken or missing keys or broken or scratched cases. Any damages will be noted and any necessary repair charges will be made. This will be for in person students as well as virtual students. Your child will be issued the same Chromebook for next school year as well as the same case. If you have any questions, please email Susan Moore at smoore@lewis.k12.mo.us . Please check your child's backpack for HES Track and Field Day forms. They were sent home Thursday, April 8th. Forms are due next Thursday, April 15th. We will not order extra, so please return form(s) and payment as soon as possible. Parents and guardians will be able to attend, but there will be viewer restrictions announced at a later date. Thank you!



Highland 4th-6th grade students: Truman University will be holding their JBA JR program again this summer July 12-16. Highland will provide transportation to and from Truman. http://jba.truman.edu/junior/

The V/JV baseball games scheduled for today at Clark Co have been postponed due to weather. Due to a scheduling conflict at Clark Co the V/JV games at vs. Clark Co on April 12 have been postponed. On April 24 the Varsity baseball team will travel to Clark Co to play a double header starting at 10am. The JV baseball team will play a doubleheader at Highland vs. Clark Co on April 24 starting at 10am. GO COUGARS!!

Parents and Guardians:
If your child is missing their district issued Chromebook, original charger that was issued with the Chromebook or the case, please be aware that there will be a replacement charge. The charges are as follows:
Replacement Chromebook - $250.00
Replacement Chromebook charger - $25.00
Replacement Chromebook case - $30.00
We will not accept anything other than the original technology that was issued.
Each week we will be sending out information about Chromebook collection, chargers, damages, virtual students and summer school. Please make sure to check your child’s folder each week for more information regarding end of the year Chromebook collection. The regular LCC1 board meeting originally scheduled for 4/14/21 has been postponed to Tuesday 4/20/21. There will be a special meeting conducted via ZOOM tomorrow at 6pm for the board to meet briefly in closed session as indicated in the linked agenda: bit.ly/2OuR09v


The Junior High Track Meet scheduled for this afternoon 4/7/21 at Monroe City has been cancelled. No makeup date has been established.

In cooperation with the Sherriff’s Dept., Highland conducted an intruder drill at the elementary and is currently conducting a drill at the HS. This is only a drill!

Due to a shortage of bus drivers Bus 21 (Candi Hudson) afternoon route will be run late. The route will leave school at approximately 4:05pm and be run as normal. If you wish to pick your student up please notify their attendance center to make those accommodations.

Parents and Guardians:
We will be collecting your child’s district issued Chromebook prior to the end of the school year. This will include the Chromebook, original charger that was issued with the Chromebook as well as the case. There will be a replacement charge for any of these items that are missing. We will be collecting from all students - in person students as well as virtual students. Your student will be given the same Chromebook next school year as well as the same case and charger. We will be sending out weekly reminders for this until the end of the school year!


Parents/Guardians: Just a reminder that while school meals are free due to waivers during the pandemic, each student is only entitled to one free tray. Extra milks, entrees, or trays are still being charged to student accounts. Account balance calls will begin again this week.

Summer school enrollment is still going on for LCC-1 students who will be in kindergarten through 9th grades next school year. You can register online at http://bit.ly/LCC1SummerSchool or call your child's school for a paper registration form. Summer school dates are June 1-30.
